Concerning complex structures the fabrication of prototypes is essential. Prototypes enable us creating a final evaluation concerning the function, usability and quality of design. Moreover, they allow strength, tolerance and assembly testing under realistic conditions. We are using the following methods:
Virtual Prototype (3D CAD):
- Rendering (photorealistic representation)
- collision und function control
- simulation of motion sequences and cable routing
- FEM analysis (Finite Element Method): calculation of stress and deformation (fracture mechanic)
- material simulation and weight optimization (lightweight construction)
Real Prototype (cooperation with selected partners):
- Rapid Prototyping (e.g. stereolithography (STL), 3D Printing)
- selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
- 3D Printing
- CNC fabrication
- pilot series and batch production
Soft- and Hardware Prototype:
- menu simulation (software prototype)
- programming by partners
- embedded systems engineering: display connection, hardware integration
